Equipa Pewano pronta para a "Guerra" - Falta 1 dia

The Pewano team has landed in Argentina for the start of the 2012 Dakar Rally, the world's toughest motorsport challenge. The endless hours of planning, building and testing has come to an end – tomorrow it’s time to race with the all new PEWANO XC60 RR.

After a long trip across the Atlantic the crew arrived in Buenos Aires on Monday evening. Except for some minor trouble with the customs and heat-adjustment, everything has gone well. The team picked up their vehicles at Delta Dock (100 kms north of Buenos Aires) on Tuesday and then continued with the 500 kms trip to the start in Mar del Plata.

For the past four days the team has worked intensively with the preparation of the car. Yesterday after many hours of administrative and technical scrutineering, they finalized the registration and the PEWANO XC60 RR were locked up in Parc fermé, a secure parking area that ensures that the vehicle is not tampered with before the race. The service trucks have been packed and the support vehicles are all set. Also while making the last adjustments, installing the navigation equipment and ensuring everything is according to Race-Rules... Alfie Cox happily confirmed:

- Now we're ready to show-off the new car, and hopefully shut a few critics’ mouths this year.

Team Manger of the Pewano team, Hans Sönksen, from the start in Mar del Plata;

- Even if we're nervous, the overall feeling in Argentina is really good. We have been longing for this moment all year, and now we can’t wait for the race to begin! Pewano are ready to do battle and line up at the start of the 2012 edition of the Dakar.

For the Pewano team, the Dakar has begun... and we're eagerly waiting for the start. Only 24 hours left until the most extreme rally in the world: The 2012 Dakar Rally.
